Bill “c-23” fair elections act.

The Conservative government’s “Fair” Elections Act received Royal Assent last Friday. Despite massive public outcry and dozens of amendments so that Stephen Harper’s own MPs would vote for it, it’s now the law of the land.

How ironic: Stephen Harper pushed through unfair changes to how we vote by banking on his unelected Conservative majority in the Senate.

Remember when Harper said he wouldn’t appoint unelected senators in the first place?

Thought on Labour

Our merchants and masters complain much of the bad effects of high wages in raising the price and lessening the sale of goods. They say nothing concerning the bad effects of high profits. They are silent with regard to the pernicious effects of their own gains. They complain only of those of other people.” ― Adam Smith, The Wealth of Nations: An Inquiry into the Nature & Causes of the Wealth of Nations
